I know... this phone is not yet available here in Indonesia.. The iPhone was launched just last week (end of June 2007) in the US and I don't know if it's going to be good.. But at least when it arrives here, the following review from
http://www.mobile-phones-uk.org.uk/apple-iphone.htm might help you to find out a bit more about it.. Here's their review...
So, what is the iPhone? It's Apple's latest wonder-machine. It's a phone-music-player-computer thingy that does everything. Simple. It looks fab (of course) and it has a cool touchscreen (like the LG Prada) so you push your fingers against the screen instead of using old-fashioned buttons. Look at the photos - how can you not like it? It does everything that an iPod does and everything that a phone does. It has a camera, it can browse the web. It just does everything!
Is there anything not to like? Well, ... this is just speculation you understand, but we're worried about the iPod. We usually get worried about anything that's really hyped up. And nothing has ever been as hyped as the iPod.
Let's consider the facts. Apple have never made a phone before. Ever. But they're a big company so let's assume they worked out how to do that. The iPhone uses the OS X operating system. Never been used in a phone before. Microsoft and Nokia have spent years working on their Windows Mobile and Symbian operating systems, and they're still buggy and unreliable. Making a smartphone ain't easy. Touchscreen phones - well, they have to be just perfect otherwise they end up being really annoying.
Let's see how the iPhone gets on...
Other problems - the camera's just 2 megapixels - that's below average for this amount of money, and by Christmas it will be even further down the scale. It's not 3G either? Despite all of the web browsing and data stuff that it's supposed to do. Battery life of 8 hours talktime? Let's see what it's like in reality.
There's lots to go wrong with the iPhone, but then again Apple have done great things before, so let's keep an open mind. Will it sell? You bet! Apple fans will buy it in droves. Will it be a great phone? Lets' wait and see. Will it live up to the hype? We seriously doubt it.
